// HEALTH · OPS & FLOOR
With Gym NYC · Public Sept 2026
An AI floor for NYC gyms. The internal ops dashboard already runs with staff at Gym NYC Lexington today; the consumer surface lands in September.
// The problem
Walk into a great independent gym in NYC and the magic isn't the equipment. It's that the front-desk knows your name, the trainer remembers what you said about your knee in March, and the floor staff can tell when a member is about to drop off. The whole operation runs on attention.
Attention doesn't scale to a second location. A great gym opens a second branch and gets diluted; a chain opens a tenth and gets indifferent. The thing that made the original work is exactly the thing that doesn't follow it across the river.
"Gym.AI is the answer to: what would a great floor person do all day if they had perfect memory and infinite patience? You build that, you can finally open a second location without losing what made the first one work."
// What it does
Ops dashboard
Who's in, who's about to drop off, who hasn't been in two weeks, who needs a check-in this morning. Built with the staff at Gym NYC Lexington — already running on the floor today.
Member memory
A member's history — injuries, goals, schedule conflicts, what their last trainer noticed — captured and surfaced when any staff member opens their record. The whole gym remembers, not just the one trainer.
Member-facing
The other half: a phone app for members. Class booking, trainer chat, programmatic plans, and a check-in loop powered by the same engine as Chala AI. Public release lands in September.
Built with one gym first
Designed alongside Gym NYC at their Lexington location. The product is shaped by what a real floor needs at 6 PM on a Wednesday — not by what a designer assumes from a Google Doc.

The consumer app opens to NYC members in September 2026. Join the waitlist for a first-week invite — and if you run a NYC gym, reach out about the partner cohort.
// Under the hood
Tech stack
Internal ops dashboard is a Next.js web app, real-time sync via Postgres on Neon. Consumer iOS app coming September — native SwiftUI with on-device pose-and-form ML, server-side LLM for plan generation.
