What's on the desk.

A monthly snapshot — what I'm working on, reading, listening to, and where I am. In the spirit of Derek Sivers' /now page. Updated on the first of the month.

May 2026 Updated May 2 · New York

A month of memory.

On the desk

Heads-down on Drako DevOS's memory layer — the part where every conversation across every agent persists into a shared, queryable substrate. The hard problem isn't storing anything; it's deciding what to forget. Working on a tiered eviction model that ages context the way a person actually does: salience first, recency second, raw size third.

Chala AI is beta-ready; opening to first users this summer once the check-in voice rewrite lands. DrakoAI's permit search is rolling out to a handful of NYC contractors. Gym.AI's internal dashboard is running with staff at Gym NYC Lexington — consumer app on track for September.

Reading

  • A Pattern Language by Christopher Alexander Slowly · half a chapter a night
  • Attention Is All You Need — re-reading after two years For the memory-layer work

Listening

  • Brian Eno — Music for Airports, on loop It fits the work.
  • Caroline Polachek — Desire, I Want to Turn Into You For the walks home from coffee shops.

Where I am

West Village, NYC. Writing this from a coffee shop on Bleecker. Walking everywhere. The morning rotation is currently Stumptown → Felix → Roastery, in roughly that order of priority.

— "The Hudson at golden hour, looking south, with the cone of Lower Manhattan turning the color of warm parchment. Forgot how loud spring is here."
